‘The Little Mermaid’ Halle Bailey sings as Ariel in Disney’s trailer

The first teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of the 1989 animated picture was released by Disney.

At the Disney fan convention D23 on Friday, Ariel the mermaid, played by Halle Bailey, was seen singing "Part of Your World."

On May 26, 2023, the remake is anticipated to open in theatres.

Bailey is seen singing in the video while dressed as a mermaid and the audience applauded loudly.

Bailey's performance was hailed as "a tour of force" by director Rob Marshall.

You can see all of Halle's sides, Marshall said. "It's the range of what Halle gives, full and passionate and so joyful and fighter."

The film, which is the first time Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda have worked together,
